Leonardo supercomputer will be ready in the next months

The Leonardo Data Centric General Purpose (DCGP) module is upcoming!


We are happy pleased to announce that LEONARDO Data Centric and General Purpose  will enter the production phase on February 12th.
LEONARDO, which is ranked 4th in the production phase since Summer 2023, is ranked 6th among the most powerful supercomputers in the Top500 List. LEONARDO will be available in pre-production in the first quarter of 2023 and will be open to full production in Spring 2023. 

The European supercomputer Leonardo, managed by Cineca, will be is based on Atos BullSequana XH2000 technology, and feature features nearly 14,000 NVIDIA Ampere architecture-based GPUs and NVIDIA Mellanox HDR InfiniBand. It will deliver delivers 10 exaflops of FP16 AI performance.

In 2024, Leonardo will receive an upgrade  targeting an increase of 100 PFlops of computing capacity, that will introduce a new partition, LISA,  further expanding its capacity and expertise and serving as an invaluable resource for the European scientific community.
